The Great Soy Debate

Okay, so unless you have been living under a rock these days, you have probably come across many articles on Soy . Some say “stay away” from it and some say “have it”. It’s overwhelming to know which to believe. Here’s my two cents on soy.

Soy has been consumed for years, primarily by Asian cultures and recently popped up in the American scene when Americans began to be concerned with their weight loss. A soy latte is almost human nature to some people, and consumed multiple times in a day. So is it safe?

Like with most things, Soy is safe to consume in moderation and it’s best to consume “whole soy” vs. processes fermented stuff; which is usually termed as “soy isolates”,according to Boston nutritionist, Tara Mardigan. Mardigan suggests that best soy products to consume are tofu, soy milk and soy-beans ..yum! When available organic is always better since there are less pesticides to worry about.  As long as you stay away from the soy supplements which are highly processed versions of soy, you’ll be okay. So, relax an enjoy the Soy Latte after all!
